The Ghazir Bridge is vital for the Beirut-Tripoli Northern highway. When it was damaged during the Lebanese Israeli War in 2006, repairing it quickly became a top priority. LEH undertook the restoration project in a Joint Venture, with the goal of restoring it to its full function and ensuring the safety of those who use it.

To accomplish this, we implemented a custom-made scaffolding system that not only supported the full load of the bridge during repairs, but also provided a solid base for jacking systems. Using these jacks, we were able to move the western deck’s beams back into place. We reinforced some beams with carbon fiber to ensure it was strong enough to withstand the load of the moving vehicles on the highway.

In addition to repairing the structure of the bridge, we also rebuilt and reconnected the entire utilities infrastructure network. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that all repairs were made quickly and efficiently, while minimizing any disruption to traffic on the highway.

Thanks to LEH’s expertise and dedication, the Ghazir Bridge was successfully restored to its former function and remains an important part of Lebanon’s transportation infrastructure today.
