This challenging project involved the rehabilitation of Silo No. 3 at the Holcim Cement Plant in Chekka, Lebanon. The scope included erecting scaffolding around a circular perimeter of 84 meters and over 60 meters in height.

The existing deteriorated and carbonated external concrete layer was demolished to an average thickness of 9 cm. The rusted steel mesh was completely removed and replaced with new steel mesh, anchored to the existing concrete structure using specialized products. Advanced wet shotcrete techniques were employed over curved areas, pumped over more than 60 meters in height and a total length of 130 meters, covering the whole surface of the structure. Additionally, special plastering products and anti-carbonation paint were applied to protect the shotcrete surfaces.
