LEH took  on multi-projects that are designed to reinforce, upgrade and rehabilitate old structures in Cimenterie Nationale cement plant, or construct new ones to meet the highest standards. Our biggest challenge was to deliver exceptional results without interrupting the operations of the plant or moving any equipment. To overcome this obstacle, we’ve developed special shoring systems, scaffoldings, and protections that guarantee the safety of the plant and equipment while we work.

A – Major structures strengthened/rehabilitated:

1 – Structures rehabilitation:

Revitalizing old towering structures is no easy feat, especially when tight deadlines and critical equipment are involved. But with our innovative propping and formwork techniques, we were able to breathe new life into very old and exhausted structures reaching heights of 60-70 meters. We strengthened and waterproofed structures such as the Gypsum feeding system, Raw Mill building, Mouse Tower, Homo Silos, Preheater towers, and Field conveyor, ensuring seismic safety and delivering the project as per the set schedule.

2 – Structures rerouting and strengthening:

When faced with the task of rerouting or repairing the structure of the existing belts connecting the quarry to the plant, we knew we had to come up with a solution that would ensure minimal disruption to the existing operational conveyor belt. We approached the project with innovation and creativity, employing a heavy propping system to protect the existing belt and going through existing and functional structures or demolishing some of them to achieve the desired outcome.

To ensure that the project was completed to the highest standards, we utilized cutting-edge technologies and techniques, including the demolition of the pump room and old chimney and the strengthening of B16 conveyor belt beams. We also demolished and reconstructed some high and imposing piers holding structures such as damaged pier 18 and the B15 conveyor belt to allow better truck circulation, all while maintaining the utmost focus on safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.

B – Newly erected structures

LEH built new facilities for Cimenterie Nationale including a new crusher #3, 4 modern administrative buildings, a garage extension hangar, and electrical stations. To ensure the safety and protection of the equipment and personnel, we also installed an innovative fencing system, made from reinforced concrete, gabions, and crushed stones.

In addition, we implemented a drainage system for the raw material area and the quarry to minimize water accumulation and promote a safe working environment. And to provide easy and safe access to the facilities, we constructed a port road parking lot and sidewalk.

All of the new construction was completed to international standards, including the polycom foundation block construction. And to ensure seamless integration with the existing equipment, we maintained high precision and tight coordination with the related equipment manufacturer throughout the construction process.
